Hall of Fame Baseball - Did You Know?

Deacon White was born on this date in 1847, making him the oldest player in the Hall of Fame. Baseball differed slightly in the 1870s, when not even the catcher wore a mitt, but White played all around the diamond, hit .312 and accumulated nearly 1,000 RBI from 1871-1890.
